Kamala Harris

Kamala Devi Harris, born October 20, 1964 was an American politician and lawyer. She is currently the 49th vice president of the United States. She is the first female vice president , and the most powerful female official in U.S. history, as also the first African American and first Asian American vice president. Being a part of the Democratic Party, she was the attorney general for California between 2011 and 2017 and was she was a United States senator representing California from 2017 to 2021. Harris was born in Oakland, California. She graduated from Howard University as well as the University of California Hastings College of the Law. She began her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office prior to being enlisted into the San Francisco District Attorney's Office and later the City Attorney of San Francisco's office. In 2003 she was elected as the city's district attorney. She was elected Attorney General of California in 2010, and then elected again in 2014. Harris was the United States junior senator from California, from 2017 to 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sánchez during the 2016 Senate elections to become the 2nd African American woman, and the first South Asian American, to serve as a senator in the United States Senate. Harris was a senator who worked for healthcare and federal de-scheduling cannabis. A pathway towards citizenship for migrants who aren't legal. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. She is most famous for her sharp questions to Trump administration officials in Senate hearings.
