Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran, born March 10, 1949 is an American businesswoman and investor. She is also a lecturer, consultant, columnist syndicated, speaker as an author, author, and television show host. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she founded. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran soon exited the business. Corcoran was one of the original Shark Tank investors. She has appeared on every season of ABC's Shark Tank. She has been involved in 53 deals since February 2020. The biggest was a $350,000 investment to pay for 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second child of 10 in a middle class Irish-Catholic family. Florence, her mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. Her father was constantly changing jobs throughout Corcoran's career. At times, the family depended on free food delivery from a nearby grocery store. Corcoran claims her father was a drunken man who did her mother a disservice and sarcastic remarks. Corcoran struggled with her education and was later diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran started in high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her time at an Catholic primary school. Corcoran dropped several classes during her first year before transferring to Leonia High School where she was an A student.
